cool, i was about to pimp myself off to a chinese flour merchant i met at the train station, as he had a whole sack of it, and when i asked how much, he simply held up a tube of KY................ I guess he saw i had the 'scrapple jones' and needed a fix.
you in the shop at around 4 ish today, as saturday and school run day, so not an entirely out of the way / special trip. about 6 english muffins would be good also.... : damn, i was at makro this morning and passed on the cloves, mere 135 baht, but would last me till i'm 70. *****
do you get free cloves with every maze purchase......... :x

funny you should say that, packaged up some cloves for sale, small resealable bottles..only enough for 5 years supply.after a bit of chit chat i'm going to package up sage, thyme, rosemary, oregano in small airtight packages to help out lads that want to do a bit of cooking at home. found a recipe for maize bread, the maize is real hardcore rustic stuff and should be very tasty, a bit on the expensive side but who wants white bread all the timeUdornLA wrote:cool, i was about to pimp myself off to a chinese flour merchant i met at the train station, as he had a whole sack of it, and when i asked how much, he simply held up a tube of KY................ Looks like I stopped by too early. But, those two French Rolls I got, were excellent. Just the way I like them, denser and chewy dough on the inside. Perfect with everything.

Joepai, just wanted to let you know you've helped to create a Jimmy Dean Sausage monster. Last weekend mixed up a batch using your recipe, (could not find nutmeg, all others available at tops) and now every time I looked up the wife was frying up a patty to go with her sticky rice from the corner sticky rice shop...... She went shopping today and came home dragging in 2 KILO of ground pork and is now in the kitchen elbow deep into a huge batch of JD Sausage. ** **joepai wrote:JD's are quite simple, I make them myself at least once a monthrealbigmonkey wrote:sorry but not available.although i have made jimmy dean clone before, quite a complicated recipe for a sausage and was well recived.the guy that makes sausages for me is very helpfull so i will have a chat with him to find out how much minimum mix he can do. i will make up a premix of the spices for him and will let you know if i can have it made. i used to make sausage patties out of it,and must say it was great with english muffins for breakfastalidar wrote:Does Papa Farangs carry Jimmy Dean style breakfast sausage?
800 grams ground pork - I try an get about 20% fat (as you do when making ordinary sausages)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp rubbed sage
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (Cayenne flakes)
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp powered ginger
1/2 - 1 tsp nutmeg
There're 3 kinds of men: A few learn by reading. Some who learn by observing. The rest have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.
