Papa Farangs

Yes, of all the chains the could use a 2nd mega store, Makro is it. the Na Di lotus and Big C are not busy / deserted, respectfully. I rarely shop at either anymore. Just Makro for us, and 8 AM on Saturday usually...... ++)(*

had 6 samosas yesterday just to test....the best bar food for years. had 12 left so froze them to see how good they come out today, spot on..i'm going to make 50 tomorrow, ready for the afternoon. but customer reaction tonight was "how quick can you make them"..."bargain bucket full" i said . not sure about the price, but somewhere around 80 baht for 10...and i dont think 50 will be around long for sure.let you know more tomorrow.think i better try for 100. oh and tandoori masala 80 baht for a 350g tub.if you like indian you will love this.and 2 big garlic naan for 50 baht toomalc123 wrote:New Tesco, in the food hall near the escalator sometimes has Samosas are good, but only get's a few at a time, never has in afternoon sold out.

Thanks for having a stab at the mango pie. The first picture of the 3 your posted is closest to what I was after except that looks like a slice from a larger pie and I always liked the 'individual serving' sized ones... a bit smaller than your pork pies. I guess the trick is not having the mango juice make the pastry all soggy on the bottom. The rhubarb pies that I have seen on rare occasions seem to use apple on the bottom layer to keep the pastry base drier since rhubard gets all runny like mango when baked.
If you manage mango crumble, I will have to try that.
Keep up the good work!

Yes, it is the best time of year for sweet mango so knock yourself out. I hope you have some pies left on Monday as I am in Bangkok right now.realbigmonkey wrote:up and at it early, mango tart looks yummy i'm yet to try it, i know a way of making mango pie so the pastry dont get soggy, mango is at a good price so i will pop out and get some more today and make some pies too
