I tend to stick to Butter because I eat so little of it anyway that it doesn't matter, it is natural after all

Re: Healthy eating
back in the old days when people ate real food and not proccessed shite, there was hardly any illness!!! Virtually zero obesity, you never heard of diabetes, heart desease, people smoked till they were 90... woodbines, capstan full strength, senior service etc.. i did have a friend who reckons there was no tobacco related illness before they started using filters, he reckons the filters are full of bad chemicals etc..
i saw a programme on fat people and there were women there saying "oh its my hormones, i dont over eat, im sick" a guy stood up and said "well there were no fat people in belsen"
i think modern food is no good for us any more.. you buy a fresh chicken in sainsbury's, its full of antibiotics, hormones etc.. you buy expensive bacon fron any supermarket, put it in the frying pan and you get a pan full of spunk and very little bacon!! its all just bullshit....

I totally agree Aard. Our family doctor hooked us up with a dietitian (after taking one look at my porker of a wife). She gave us a lot of good information on diet. Went through all the cupboards and fridge and commented on everything. She told us too throw out the sticks of margarine as they contain trans fats. And said the same thing, as long as your not consuming pints of butter at a time it won't hurt you. I only use it spread very thinly on toast, corn on the cob, and to fry eggs.Aardvark wrote:I tend to stick to Butter because I eat so little of it anyway that it doesn't matter, it is natural after all
I really believe that the Thai diet is one of the healthiest in the world. Lots of fresh vegetables, herbs and spices; very small amounts of meat and almost no processed foods. That's why so many Thai women have such clear skin, without makeup, great bodies, and a healthy appetite for sex IMHO. Of course, that's changing rapidly as they become corrupted with the fast food pox that the farangs are inflicting on them.

Agree Jimbo, when my wife first came to Oz she asked what I'd like for dinner and I said Steak. She BBQ'd one Steak and sliced it up and then poured lime juice and Herbs over it and served it with Rice and Vegetables ++)(* Delicious. She calls it Waterfall Beef. I read some where, maybe on a forum that if you put a Tub of Margarine in the Shed and left it for a week it would look much the same as when you put it there, and even the Ants wouldn't go near the stuff ":":" Don't know if it's true or not, but made me feel sick just thinking about it *()(*^

back in the old days when people ate real food , they were busy dieing of T B , smallpox , and other assorted wonderful disceases , that have since been eradicated !!!!! and they werent obese mainly because food was still relatively expensive , compared to income . people would spend over half there salaries on food . so they couldnt afford to be fat . its a double edged sword im affraid , processed food is much cheaper to produce and sell , and prepare , for people leading busy lives . so people can afford to eat more .

I dont think I can entirely agree with Thai food being so healthy. The food itself is Yes,healthy. But so much stuff here is fried.and what oil they use? Mainly palm oil!Because it cheap. One of the worse range in cooking oil!jimboLV wrote:I totally agree Aard. Our family doctor hooked us up with a dietitian (after taking one look at my porker of a wife). Re: Healthy eating
Thai food has too much MSG in it. Not good.
