KK I learnt many years ago , put enough sugar and salt in the right amount you can make anything taste good. I try to avoid as much as possible. not always possible but some things like bread can be done with a little effort . Sadly thai food contains huge amounts. sugar and salt themselves are not bad . but too much causes issues. cake is bad , but just eat one piece a week, bread is bad ,but don't get carried away. The old saying " a little of what you fancy does you good" is the best view. you want fries ..once a week , you want a burger ..one a month, you want beer ..have as much as you like

Thanks for the information. I'll pass on the alcohol, but the rest of it provides ample food for thought.

I've got down to 0.8 units a day for the last 2 or 3 months. Much of the alcohol is harmful press in recent times seems to be coming from the UK. Probably not from Yorkshire.

Eating habits are evolving in Blighty's bakeries:

"Greggs has seen a 58 percent first half profit rise following the launch of its now-famous vegan sausage roll."

Many a business owner would be over the moon with that kind of result. It might be a decade or two before Udon's farang make similar changes to their eating habits?
