The embassy ACS reps said that's entirely up to the Thai Foreign Ministry and the policies they set. Neither the U.S. Embassy or its staff have anything to do with Thai Immigration policy...

I might be mistaken but hasn't the Thai Foreign Ministry Immigration policy remained unchanged? its the issuing (or not) of affidavits thats changed & that is purely down to the Embassies policy

Yes, the embassy added a line, that they can't / don't guarantee the affidavit as being accurate. I actually have an old one in my file, without it.

The embassy is talking BS.
