last night I had a great Lamb (well Mutton) Masala curry and nan bread. Pakistani style and not Indian. Was delicious.
..If any of you fancy a trip to Riyadh I'll take you to it

That brings back great memories for me hamlay as in my student days at Manchester uni we often went to the curry mile in Rusholme to a Pakistani restaurant and had proper authentic home cooked lamb biryani and all the side extras which was to die for and in those days cost just a couple of quid
Sadly a lot of U.K. Indian / Pakistani restaurants these days seem to prepare all the curries from wholesalers jars and not fresh mortar and pestle spices.. a sign of the times I think

Cottage pie up for lunch today. apple and blueberry pies back in stock, and an afternoon of baking yet more pork pies

showing the wife something different for today, bit old school but still a great dish. Chicken en croute, stuffed with basil,cheese,garlic . Rather large though so we are having them for lunch ,served with a simple salad and some potato salad as usual bargain price of 139b. some aussie pies too, had a little filling left over so made some aussie puff pastries . and starting to make scotch eggs again

And yet another variation of the chicken en crute today , this time stuffed with garlic, butter, mushrooms and smoked bacon, with a few home fries. or simple fodder pie 'n' mash all just 139b
