If the NRL (rugby league) is going to start playing in May (because they're broke), then Oz should make a better effort at remembering its diggers. Scotty from Marketing might have an idea or two.

Imagine wanting to defend Australia in war but being told you are too black to fight.

This is what happened to Indigenous soldiers Arthur Brown, Arthur Sinclair, and Arthur Williams who, despite race-based rejection, ended up fighting in World War I.

The three Indigenous soldiers were among many people of Aboriginal, Torres Strait, and South Sea Islander descent who defied authorities to enlist in the Great War.

All were form the Tweed Shire in northern New South Wales.
