It looks tasty, but with Type 2 diabetes, and getting through a quadruple heart by-pass, I can't go near this food. But, I can dream.

Too much sugar means I have to go on insulin, and too much fatty artery clogging food means I have to go under the knife again. It's a risk I do not want to take despite the temptation.
The largest, a fruit scone, contained in the region of 750kcal and 39.2g of sugar, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said. ... The average scone provided 20g of sugar, which is the equivalent of five sugar cubes. The range of sugar per scone varied between 3.1g to 39.2g.Feb 12, 2019
but crumpets are fine,
Can Type 2 diabetics eat crumpets?
They're very low GI and it's good for a diabetic to have crumpets. They can give you lots of energy, also sustained energy. Crumpets are a very good thing to have in the morning for breakfast. Probably not as Small Talk likes them though, smothered in two inches of butter and marmite.Oct 6, 2011

But there is no sugar in my scones, the sweetness comes from the fruit and the jam you put on it . we also don't have sugar in our bread. today I made scones using French butter, much better results than the thai bakery butter that I normally use, I hope I can get more as the butter is fantastic, better than I can get in the UK,Damm those French.

KK I learnt many years ago , put enough sugar and salt in the right amount you can make anything taste good. I try to avoid as much as possible. not always possible but some things like bread can be done with a little effort . Sadly thai food contains huge amounts. sugar and salt themselves are not bad . but too much causes issues. cake is bad , but just eat one piece a week, bread is bad ,but don't get carried away. The old saying " a little of what you fancy does you good" is the best view. you want fries ..once a week , you want a burger ..one a month, you want beer ..have as much as you like
