As always we forget that the taste is subjective , one mans meat is another's poison. Generally pie makers in Udon are excellent and very good value for money .
However some so-called excellent pies that come from afar inside Thailand, do not in my experience match up to the quality available locally . Having said that, unless one collects pies from a maker outside Udon Thani Province in a freezer truck, sadly , and I mean this sincerely folks the transportation of freshly cooked comestibles is not well regulated having seen deliveries at the local mini Big C and Tesco being done by an UNREFRIGERATED truck, one really wonders at the edibility if the food transported . Dry food okay, but often food designed to be kept cool are not , reducing shelf life considerably and raising possibility of food safety.
We are all aware of the lax hygiene standards of local stalls and markets when it comes to fresh food ( cooked or not ) but we expect the Major food franchises to maintain standards employed by their bigger main stores, but this often is NOT the case.
