made a fruit cake yesterday,very filling . and while out shopping for beef for pies i came across australian organic brisket,great for roast,stew,pies..even makes pulled beef for mexican.going to turn it into pies and will let you know how good it is......oh and it was only 205 baht a kilo :o

well i did not know people like fruit cake so much. me i cant eat it,too rich for me.someone asked how do i get it to stick together.....80% fruit and is still tastes like cake,and i know how to make it gluten free...but i dont think i can make it low fat lol

got my new oven installed yesterday,lots of bells and whistles on,nice bit of kit....
going to make a few mince pies today as a test for flavor, 20 baht each,scotch eggs 50 baht,sausage rolls 50 baht,large white loaf 50 baht. and this afternoon hot out the oven steak and kidney pies.the other thing is my gold star chunky steak pie...50 baht per potion. yep i'm a pound shop :lol: . and the large jars of pickled onions are ready,crip,crunchy and they definately bite back
subs... bacon,sausage,ham, cheese are all 60 baht,the best seller is smoked ham and cheese salad and beetroot chutney,time it right and you get a roll still warm from the oven,and it dont get freasher than that

Add a little brandy or Rum in the mince pie mix Dean just a few testers see how they go.

put half a bottle of brandy in the mix....well minus a couple of swigs
.got to go in tomorrow for extra baking,but still make time for lunch at chris's place

well done the sunday baking thing,non stop all day,and again today.back to making mince pies.had one myself,way too rich for me,dont know how some of you guys can eat 4 at a time. not going to make cristmas puds this year..but i will make super delux fruitcake with lots of nuts the week before christmas for you guys with a very sweet tooth

Put me down for one. The couple of slices I had the other day were very good.
Save me a few of them mince pies...for a start anyway, I'll stop by tomorrow.
I'll want a S.L. of them pies later...enjoy them all year long
