i was always confused by this place , perfect location , available parking , 50-60 hotel guests on the premises
but nobody ever wanted to eat there , every month fewer and fewer patrons , who can explain it they
should have had 100 customers a day in there. just another udon business mystery we well never understand

Bronie, it must have been those white table cloths that were set on the tables in an irregular fashion. That bugged me about that restaurant from the minute I saw the first photo taken inside...seriously...it did. We had a breakfast group that used to meet there, but after 6 or so meetings we changed venues. Something about that place just wasn't right and I could never put my finger on it. I know that several times we were irritated by the waitresses who would get in a huddle and talk very loud, coupled with the music that was turned up too loud, and it was all just too distracting for a group of guys who wanted to have a communal conversation. Then you had the owner running around taking photos of the group to post on his forum sponsor page which was sort of creepy. The food was good and reasonably priced, but the coffee servings were waaaaaaaay too small for a crowd of Americans. Three sips and it's gone! When will these restauranteurs learn that even as long as we get a large mug with the coffee watered down, at least we feel like we're getting value for our money. There was also a problem with keeping the right temperature on the A/C. It was always too stuffy feeling. The only thing that really impressed me about the place was the fact that the waitresses put ones bill in a cup in front of your face so we could keep tabs on the bill. Oh well, maybe I'm just hard to please, but that's my input on the situation.bronie wrote:i was always confused by this place , perfect location , available parking , 50-60 hotel guests on the premises

not hard to please Black sheep, if you know a group come regularly , and you know their preferences then you put a bit more effort in as groups are the best way to go, it's ok when 1 customer orders breakfast, but 6 makes the day a good one.... hey wife the yanks are coming, get another 5 gallons of coffee on. not rocket scienceblacksheep wrote:Bronie, it must have been those white table cloths that were set on the tables in an irregular fashion. Re: Delight Internationales Restaurant At The Ruysuk Hotel
what's really odd on the 2nd building at the old ruysuk hotel there used to be a massage shop(who knew) and now it appears to be getting renovated into a bar / club
it's this sort of "out of the box" innovative thinking that sets udon apart from other retirement destinations :clap: the ability to identify a previously untapped niche
market and then exploit that opportunity. so, i guess we will have a new restaurant and maybe a bar -pub as well in the near future

Re: Delight Internationales Restaurant At The Ruysuk Hotel
you may have noticed that opposite ruysuk there is a very nice coffee shop named "green coffee by kittyudonthani".bronie wrote:i was always confused by this place , perfect location , available parking , 50-60 hotel guests on the premises
but nobody ever wanted to eat there.....
although they serve very nice coffees and shakes and some food, they also lack regular customers .... apart from UDFC's head coach.
i wonder how long they will survive with their business there.
maybe a matter of "rich father's girl running her own coffee shop"?
https://www.facebook.com/Green-Coffee-B ... 5/?fref=ts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
don't get fooled by the pics on Facebook.
you may go there anytime of the day, most of the time it is quite empty inside.
so no worry about finding a seat.
btw: the coffee tastes great.....

With exception of Beyond Cafe, I think most coffee shops are just hobbies........
