I pop in every so often, during the week, before 4 pm.........always fairly empty, myself and maybe 2-3 other customers, none with more than a carry basket. So I was surprise when there Saturday 2 ish, and not much different than a weekday of shopping. Where other venues I avoid, as packed, even the NaDi branches.

I really don't see them lasting the long haul. Went looking for a bran cereal, which they offered none. Selection down from when first opened, and split between kid's sugar fix, and euro mueslix, anywhere from 7-10 USD box. NO THANKS.

Strangely, they do carry a couple things, cheaper than the rest, half/half creme, a few baht, bbq sauce we use at about 15 % cheaper than Ngee Soon. Ok selection of cheese, though Tops carries about the same, almost and I only get the one Swiss there that I like and isn't silly price.

Have yet to see anyone buy something from their very sorry bread/bake section or the extremely overpriced meat section. Freezer case is a joke also, and I only bought hash browns there, which I just found a good version elsewhere, for more than half VM's price. Along with silly pricing for fruits and veggies, though look nice, same as Tops, but that's a hell of a premium simply for display. Get my instant coffee there, when on sale, and usually find something of interest in the 50 % front display.

Unless the rent is really cheap, doubtful, they may want to consider moving over to Central Plaza or Ud Town when re-vamped or space becomes available. Maybe higher traffic numbers will help, but very hard to get me there on as it's a special trip every time. With Makro expanded western offering, can't see much point in going there any more, unless a one off specialty item.

There a nice option, but who knows how long they can last.

Don't do the major shopping in Villa but find them useful for many items. U.S. imported bacon is the same price as thai-German or BLucky brand. Hot dogs from the U.S., sliced turky breast also. Vlasic pickles and Japaleno jack cheese go great together. In the freezer got some good snack items, ind pizzas come out great from the toaster oven. Hot pockets are nice for a quick fix and varity of sausages, especially the hot italian sausages. Bagels, english muffins, waffles also good. As far as fresh bread forget it. Thought Papa Farang was gonna be the main supplier for bread, pies, and pasties? Hope they last a enjoy many of their products which no one else carries.

man your lazy, or just can't cook...........

just read fdmike's post on the other side, his cup is half full.............Candadian lobster, though I'm scared to ask. did get some half price jam, that was quite tasty, and was thinking about getting some more, may have to pop back in this afternoon, and hope the lobster isn't too silly priced. Canada......is that close to Maine....

Scary, how similar M/S's shopping habits are to mine;o) the other day noticed they had Alaskan King Crab and looked like they also had what looked like the Chile king crab same as offered by Makro;o)

Typically a visit there results in a 2000bt tab, maybe they can make on margin as opposed to volume;o)

I used to live out of restaurants and the microwave in Memphis when single. not worth cooking or doing the dishes for on person. same amount of pots and pans for 1 or 4......

pomps just posted a FB for VM on the other side, and shows my coffee, Bon Aroma on sale for April, which it wasn't on sale here, as I am running very low and been waiting for new sale. bought like 12 last time.......

apparently even that is updated much, as nothing for May, and more than half over. *()(*^

OR, just thinking, are they coupons you are supposed to print off..........seems a bit silly, though would be practical if they promoted the website in the store.

popped in again today, wanted some more chips and jam, sadly had to settle for 1 jam.......

they did have some ok lobsters, and actually fairly priced ฿1000 ± a kg, and they all ranged shy of a kg, ฿700 - 900. seemed the usually restaurant size that doesn't specialize in lobster, but having claws, so real deal, and labeled Canada / Maine..

Alaskan king crabs legs looked a better value at ฿700 kg, i think, more meat overall as tails looked a bit small, one did look nice, decent tail, and maybe a kg, but no price as a few didn't. oh well, couldn't really be bothered, as prefer just the tails, but at prices I've heard, I'll pass, not that big on lobster. actually want Ree to try, but she ain't going for that price, i'll have to surprise, though if she doesn't care for it, i'm screwed. she really enjoyed a Lobster Bisque I had a while back, which was ok, and sparked her interest...........not quite the same.

Saturday, and not sure if ever there before on the weekend, but not much different from the week. The place is dead, and nothing that I wanted. no half / half, no sour cream, and this a high end specialty store. the only thing that i notice it has, that other don't, is cheese, though Udon Delice would be my choice, and whole Maine lobster.

the rest is total crap, under stocked and way overpriced. sale prices can't seem to compete with Makro's regular prices, even after the high increases since CP took over. simply isn't worth the trip, unless driving by while going elsewhere in town.

don't know about their overhead, but I really can't see them hanging around much longer after another lease. Shame they don't move over to IT Nevada, they could use and anchor, and VM could use the traffic.
