Tried to get into Shabushi before midday today but was told on the door there is a 2 hour minimum waiting time :shock: Oishi express looks at least 1 month away from completion. 8-)

At least McDonalds was heaving with farang celebrating Valentine's day :o

The Oishi Express will be a gr8 place also, normally seen in the larger shopping malls etc in BKK,

I will try this place but remember the original pictures of UD Town showed that it was going to be Fuji Restaurant,another highly successful business.
Just a tad cheeky on behalf of the marketing :o

Well having been a fan of the Osihi Restaurents , its gr8 to see they have opened 2 of their successfull retail outlets here in Udon. Shabushi and Oishi Express ( maybe open in 2 weeks )

Shabushi is similar to the MK style of food, cooking etc, only this is a buffet and includes all the meats , seafood and vegetables, plus heaps more. It also has a Sushi Bar with salmon, rolls, various tempuras, and other Japanese favourites as well a fresh fruit and icecream. Bottom less pepsi, sprite and Oishi teas included.

The price os 239 ? ++ and its all up 536 for 2, with a time limit of 1.5 hours. ( 506 B with disc )

The seating is at indiviual cooking stations or at tables for 4 .

The food is provided on a sushi train and seating is for approx 150 ?

Member cards are available and mine from BKK was invaluable as you get priority seating in the queue, as well as 10% discount.

I was seating right opposite the food preparation area, so put my UK Food Safety and Catering level 4 quals into a visual audit.

HACCP ( hazaard analaysis and critical control points ) are well practiced, all foods served to the prep area are in packets or sealed contaciners, vegetables are well washed , temp settings on the fridges are within recognised levels , hand washing procedures are posted , together with dispensors and correct disposable hand cleaning towels availabe.

Staff are well presented, clean uniforms, not soiled, head protection and masks are well practiced , as well as disposable gloves on all food prep handlers.

I did observe 1 small container spilt and an obvious protocol is in place, its cleaned, floor mopped and gloves replaced.

Toilets are in the same building, but need to go outside to what seems like a well cleaned and managed facility.

overall comment and great eating experience .

parking is in the UD Town area and also on the street.
