But......on that, SangSom puts out a well respected rum, winning awards, and HiSo that I am,

The drink won gold medals in liquor competitions in Madrid, Spain in 1982 and 1983, in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1983, and again in Barcelona in 2006. The medals are featured prominently on the product's packaging and have led to it being referred to locally as "SangSom Rianthong" (SangSom Gold Medallion).
Along with Phraya Rum, but only as export, and quite expensive. I've tried and can't get it here, failing miserably. Have to look next time in Laos.
