Most western places offer a reasonable breakfast for around 100B (plus tea or coffee that's around 150B all in). I think that's cheap and not every place has shitty Thai bread (BH & Chern Chim don't and I believe the Clock makes their own bread). I happen to like the Ayam baked beans, but as I said earlier, most expats in Udon like to moan about stuff not being as good as back home. There are a few more places doing a cheap English breakfast as well.

As for subs, I had the chicken & cheese sub in the Bookhouse last night as thought it was pretty good. Obviously, 'not as good as back home' for most Udon residents, but I enjoyed it.

i am really not sure about this? on the rare occasion i want a pizza or mexican food or kebab(s) or
some type of "euro food" i really don't care to spend 200-300 baht(food only) for one sitting as long
as i get a reasonable amount of food? lately i have been having a craving for "sub" style "new york deli"
type sandwhiches? i mean you can eat good thai food for 30baht a plate? i thought there was a sandwhich
shop here? or california cafe or something? i can't even keep up with openings and closings here. :worried:
so anyway, if you provide reasonable amount and quality not sure if folks are too fussy about price?

All depends what one calls inexpensive, now i can have a very good English breakfast back home for 225 Baht, the dogs b*llocks though, or can have a good one at wetherspoons for f 200 baht (50 TO pound)

Despite the fact we were in a Hotel we chose to eat at the " Golden Bee " Wetherspoons in Sheep Street for every Breakfast and evening meal!! now you may think that is sad, but i can tell you we had great service, fantastic meals, always hot and plentiful + good choices.A full English Breakfast for the two of us inc drinks and toast and preserves was around £8. In our Hotel it would have been £20 and that was buffet style

Now thats cheap.Thats just 400 baht.
Compared to Udon i would say the average is about 160 baht, I am referring to the FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST, so you are talking 3.20 pounds. Now i would not say that is cheap, to say its in Thailand, when most of the breakfast have your sweet Thai baked beans, 1 scrawny little sausage, very small portions, inferior quality bacon, that horrible sweet Thai bread.
That is what i have found and i have had breakfast in almost every falang establishment that does it.
The only one which is worth 160 Baht is the one down at the BookHouse,i have the medium portion one which is far too much for me to eat, but i keep trying.Certainly value for money.

Sorry Beda, i have to go with P-Man-W on this one, finding good quality cheap food(eating out) is not as easy as one thinks.
