The only real weakness I have in the sweet department is Cheese Cake. Where do you find the best one in Udon ??
Central Plaza, now has a Secret Recipe, good cheesecake along with many other tasty baked sweets.
UD CupCakes now at Central Plaza, as entering food court. Nice to see UD CupCake found a home there. Now offering Twinkies, regular and chocolate.Though no chemicals, so shelf life won't be 10 years. No high end competitor to pressure them out, like over at UD Town.
Still at UD Town, now located in Tesco, near left side entrance, if entering front entrance. Moved from walkway near S & P, due to pressure a competitor, not wanting better bakery items available near them.

In Udon and Muang Gao (Sukhothai), I like the ice-cream at Swenson's. In Bangkok, I like the choices in the food court in the basement of Siam Paragon. If I have a long haul ahead on the bus, I will get some chocolates and sweet stuff at the nearest 7.

Roy said and Shado corrected proper latin, italian, ..... cannolo is singular or cannoli........
I have never had a cannolo................. learn something new every day, although, i also have never had a cannolo, or ever used the expression. i simply can't imagine me ordering just one.....have to order by the box......

the pic of those cannolis are from my favorite vendor in Philly at the Reading Terminal Market. The original guy died around 80 years old a while back and his wife continued on, even though looking about 80 herself, lovely couple. I posted another pic of the cannolis somewhere on here, with the name of the shop in the pic. Simply delicious. Can’t go to Philly without a stop there. Cheesesteak or hoagie, Amish apple turnover, a whole apple wrapped in dough, hot out of the oven with cream poured over it. And of course, a box of cannoli’s. What a great food town.
oh yea, back to: UD Cup Cake, as mentioned,, now located at Central Plaza, just outside the Food Court, across from where you purchase the food card for food court. Will close stand in Tesco at UD Town, but stay on weekends, back to the concrete vendor area, much better and less overhead...... ++)(*

Had the regular Twinkies today, though didn't notice I picked up the ones w/strawberry cream filling. Was never a fan of Twinkies, actually like UD CupCakes better, a bit heavier cake. And prefer the chocolate ones over the strawberry filled one today.
In Philly and states, if not something from a local bakery, then I was addicted to TastyKakes in the states, their chocolate offerings and pies; apple, pumkin, lemon, blueberry......

a flashback for yanks, especially Philly boys, as a local bakery made good and think national now, or at least east of the mississippi....

I see the Falang guy is know selling cup cakes at Central Plaza.
..No offense to the guy but I'm amazed as I've never once seen anyone buy a single cup cake from his place at Tesco.
I'm sure I could see the frustration in his eyes everytime I sat at Diary Queen across from him and bought icecreams instead of his fairy cakes.
..Anyway hope he's doing well.

Just a thought....maybe Thai's would prefer a Thai serving them, Farangs are not noveltys anymore, so the novelty factor is out the window, personally if it was my place i would have a cute girl behind the counter.

Dead right mate, plus the general xenophobia of not wanting to buy anything from a foreign devil's business.
Perhaps the foriegn devil should wear fancy dress and increase the novelty factor.

UD CC, when they used to be at UD Town, originally a concrete patch, ok, they had table and awning, nice, but he sold out very fast, and he was always in attendence, playing shuttle with stock as the ladies sold. UD Town/tesco location sucked, a grinding stop. so he is going back to the flee market by Jeffers, i think, but just on fri/sat/sun, and will do very well. also sets up near one of the corners for a few hours over on Ady rd, and does quite well. has a couple lasses working also, one definite cutie. you would be surprise how well he does, especially when 1st open at UD Town, 3 - 4 people deep, waiting till he ran out. all thais.
they are doing quite well at Central Plaza.
central has an excellent marketing, lease plan, in their favor of course, but i does make sense. he rent at Central is essentially the same, minimum as in UD Town/lotus location. it's a gradual scale of payment, % wise.
remember, i dine off hours, usually late lunch / early dinner, so most places or vendors are empty when i'm out and about.
