Isn't Perth considered the most remote place on earth? Or did I just make that up?
..Maybe Aard knows. Anywhere I wouldn't mind getting banished to perth, is some great pubs in the centre. Don't think you can smoke inside though

got me thinking... :!:

so... if you turn your back, then from your face go forwards as if to go right round the globe until the halfway point, that would be the farthest place, as soon as you go over the halfway marker it would be getting nearer....but...and there is a but.....you would be farthest away from yourself...and that would be impossible as you can never be far away from yourself, only arms length and then thats not your whole body, so would be like the donkey and the carrot.

So I guess what your saying is that the visual angles are defined as the angle between line of sight up to the mean point of a relative distance and the relative distance itself and therefore the two cannot meet thyself relative to it.Conundrum solved :smoke:

The most Remote Capital City I believe ! 3 1/2 Hours to Bali, 5 Hours to Singapore and 6 1/2 Hours from Bangkok, not that far really ?? Don't Smoke in Restaraunts but get pissed off at Airports where the Smoking Room is the size of an average Toilet, when they have one at all

By law they most probably have to provide somewhere....so they make them as awkward and as small as possible.

it's a load of bollox mate , when I look for a hotel etc - I always make sure it's got a balcony and somewhere to have a ciggie , my wife dont smoke , so I sit outside - for f*cksakes give us somewhere to go - - a pint and a ciggie goes cap in hand

I respect the Konstabel here for being responsible in not smoking in his hotel room and for being considerate in not subjecting his wife to the effects of his smoking. I also sympathise with him for wanting to be able to have his “pint” and his cigarette together somewhere without being harassed. Most smokers from developed countries would regard this to be their right.
The problem is that I am a non-smoker and I consider that it is my right also to drink my beer and eat my food while breathing cigarette smoke free air. A customer in a well know local restaurant was recently assaulted for asking someone not to smoke at the inside bar. This restaurant is well provided with smoking areas in the pool room and on the verandas that almost surround the dining room. Problems occur when smokers either pass through the dining area going to the toilet, bar, computer, TV or to their rooms with lit cigarettes or simply move into the dining room to settle down and light up.
As Konstabel says “give us somewhere to go”. There is plenty of room for everyone. If we could just stop our self-interested aggression and come to mutual agreements we could all live sensibly together while respecting each others wishes.
