Re: What's Your Favourite Bar in Udon Thani?
If you are talking about the Wine Society, we have been there a number of times. Went there this past Saturday. Pricey. However, food is usually pretty good and the menu has items not found in other Udon restaurants. Saturday I had the US beef rib eye steak. Not as good as back in the states but quite tasty none the less. I think it was ฿900. One of the more expensive items. Their pork chop is very good and in the ฿400 or ฿450 range. Lots of entrees less than ฿500. Pretty nice salad and soup menu as well. The wine selection is second to none in Udon. We had Chilean red (forget which one now) that was around ฿1,500. The wife selected the wine.
A very nice special event venue. Expect to pay an average of no less than ฿1,000 per person, more if you are into lots of good wine. We go maybe once a month or so. They have live music after 20:30 and the Filipino band is very talented. Not the sort of place you would want to go for a regular evening out but a nice change of pace especially for an anniversary, birthday dinner or perhaps entertaining guests.
Suggest you give it a try, look at the menu, try one of their offerings and make your own decisions. I wouldn't be everyone's cup of chaa but we find it a nice place to go to occasionally.

and order alot, so you have take-away, which you can give to the 2 guys, at the bottom of steps, bumming money, since we can't afford to eat there. and be careful not to knock over our 35 baht changs........
all the smart beggars hang out at the expensive restaurants in Philly, maybe get some good take-away. though i never deprived my dog of her doggy bag. ex seemed to never be able to finish her flounder stuffed w/crabmeat, which the dog loved and seemed to know as soon as returning home, there was a good munch coming.

hard to miss MK, on the forth floor with all the other restaurants. central buffetf gets mixed reviews, as always. Tops and food courts are on ground/basement floor, 1st fl is mixed, 2nd fl is IT / phone, 3rd is banking, beauty/slimming clinics, and mixed, forth is food food and more food.

Jeffers, now across the street at IT / Nevada, better than before. Angus beef burger, noticeably better flavor, 139 instead of 89, along with revamped menu, and nice promos. Jeffers and YaYoi are about the only AC'd venue we frequent lately, depending what side of town we are on.
