A good steak in the US will run a bit over $30, keep in mind yanks know about steak and are experts so to speak.

@ALL
Thanks for all comments and further informations.

Yes, it was like a nighmare in Baan Thai yesterday. Clueless service girls who not (want to) understand my order in Thai and English language and not understood my wife and the Thai friend as well.
A best friend who wanted to eat a steak, followed my recommendation for a good one and then they FORGOT his order. But when he ate from my steak he said it was good luck that he did not get another shoe sole. **

I am a regular customer at Sante Fé in Central Plaza. We often have lunch there after shopping. My wife likes the fish and shells which are mostly promoted and cheap.
But @blacksheep is right about the service. One time only after meal I got an unexpected request from a girl „Sir, do you like anything else, maybe coffee or whatever“?
Made me speechless for a moment. It also seems they stopped to keep the pepper mill ready when they serve the main course. But I never complained because I realised it is more or less a cheap fastfood restaurant.
Where I come from, the kitchen knows how to manage that all customers at the table get the main course at the same time. I guess It will be the same in all western countries, but very rare in Thailand.

Last year I did my birthday party in Sizzler because all my invited farang friends are not much into Thaifood. The salad bar was great but the ambiance of the restaurant is not so nice to have a party. Irish Clock for example is much more comfortable for that. The reason why I went to a place like Baan Thai restaurant for a steak now was, that my wife prefers Thaifood and mostly was not happy with the Thai menue card in farang owned restaurants.

I have been 3 times this year in a Thai restaurant with a very outstanding atmosphere. The Thai music is great, has nothing to do with the well-known Lao music.
People told me it is music from the south. They played on instruments I have never heared in my life.
The only disadvantage for farangs: the large menue card shows Thaifood only (no problem for me) and comes in Thai language, so you always need an interpreter.
It is not cheap there, but not more expensive than Baan Thai and full worth the money!

We always have been full satisfied and had a nice and perfect evening:

Pizza home service sounds good, may I ask please where the pizza baker is located? How far do they deliver?

Thank you! ++)(*

that is a problem, as they have a hard enough time getting western food right, and affordable, they really screw up the local food, and usually a worse value than western crap.

I have visited the Colonies and eaten in your steakhouses, Doctor Jet. The reason Americans pay 30 Bucks is that their steaks are so bloody big - just one could keep a family of Geordies fed for a week.
