The 'Tom' pretty sure that was his name, worked there when Andy ran the place, he also left when Andy left. Both moved around from place to place. Not sure where either are today, for I think I saw somewhere that Andy left Chris's Place.

I'm talking way before July ish 2005, Tom (Graham, I think was last name), and if not mistaken, father of present lessee. If still holding, same as lessee of Irish Clock. Not the manager, but lessee who sub-leases. Again, if not mistaken, as been a while, since I quite frankly, gave a sh*t.

I got here beginning of 2005 and stayed at City, and Andy's brother owned the place, and Andy ran it, Tom worked there along with four or five nice girls. Loved the place, friendly, good food, good talk, with good service. Then Andy's brother sold it to that AH who owned Irish Clock. As far as I know he still owns both.

If so, then yes, Tom, one I'm thinking of, took over immediately after your Tom. And yes, that guy's (SG) father, Tom. He doesn't own, but leases, then sub-lease to managers. When Tom left IC to go to CL, then his sister, Stacy/Tracy took over IC and ruined it, till Steve and Mali revived it, then went down hill from there, again, after they gave up the sub-lease.

Just 'after' Trevor took over, he got another 10 year lease, and I think on 3rd management team since. Not the best indication things are good, but as I stated, has deep pockets, so will finish out the lease, as dumped a sh*tload into it when opening, and probably renew, unless owner asks for silly money to lease or maybe finally sell.

I think Nok moved on, but rumor has it she will rise again soon in the town centre

Nok has moved on because she was not allowed to buy decent products and had to buy local crap and refused to lower her standards so left, she is planning to go it alone again soon, I will keep everyone posted, she will still supply her fantastic pies to order, best in udon by a country mile and always consistent quality and taste.

Well that's a shame. City Lodge when Andy was cooking, was the very first Udon restaurant I dined at, on my first visit to Udon: November 2005. City Lodge has always held a special place in my heart.

Good luck to her with her new venture, even though she doesn't need luck, her food speaks for itself.
The only thing she needs is an easily accessible location w/parking.

I've stayed at the City Lodge - nice rooms upstairs and no complaints from me - but it seems to open and close more times than an Isaan woman say's ' hutban no gwood want meet wid farang'

Called in last week, two old farangs sitting finishing the tea/ coffee, otherwise empty
Ordered the breakfast and Mrs ordered fish and chips (11.30am)
30 mins later they arrived.. My breakfast ok, fish and chips still raw in the centre and slimey, called owner over and asked about the meal, her answer was... I can microwave it for you if you like, wife said no thanks. Owner then turns and walks off goes back into kitchen
10 mins later she arrives with a tray of Thai food for her, the waitress and a katoey nancyboy. They proceed to yak and scoff for 10 mins ignoring us, eventually my Mrs gets up and asks for check bin
Charged full whack for an inedible meal and surly shit service. And not cheap I may ad
Never again will we eat there
As an extra my visiting friend recently was recommended to eat there and he told me that the service was abismal, food expensive and his Thai missus said the Thai grub was peng and not even fit for farm workers.
So that's my report... I'll put my helmet on to receive the verbal blows from the faithful patrons.. But that was my experience
