Sophie's Bistro is a restaurant. The SAFEHOUSE is the restaurant's bar. Both are owned by the same persons: Papa Z and my wife Sophie. If you wanna know why stop by and I'll tell ya.

I've been in Udon now for a few months, and have eaten at every available eatery here.
There are a few ok establishments around with so so food, but most I gotta tell you are simply hacks. In order not to embarrass those I speak off I will only mention the good ones:
1. Sophie's Bistro ( this is my favorite in Udon)
Great pizza- actually the best pizza I've had in Udon and by the slice!!! Great American breakfast for 99baht, authentic Greek and Italian food, clean, welcoming, great customer service, something all others lack, and the owner Bill is a lovely chap. This is a true value for money restaurant. If you're not patronizing you're missing out on some great food!!!!
2. Casper's Roadhouse
Great ribs here. Not much else though.
Kinda of a blah atmosphere, but so so for the area.
3. Los Amigos
Good Mexican food. Albeit the only Mexican food available. A little out of the way but worth the trip if you're in the mood for TexMex fare.
Moving on to Laos, and Cambodia next to sample the fare there.
