Not much new, The Pannarai Hotel, mixed reviews, for location and brekkie, and if I was a tourist, even not knowing the soi, doubt if I would stay there, Pannarai that is. Irish Clock, definitely better values elsewhere, though that use to be my choice, but now, simply too much competition. Even Centara w/pool is only 1200 baht.

Too many places 1000 baht give or take all over, so options abound, much different from the past. A few w/pools if wanting. Some much less, and again, w/pools.

I do agree, years ago non expensive accommodation was at a premium, now with so many outlets serving GOOD foreign food, the rise of cheaper hotels and rooms available for short or long term lets, makes any expensive place , expensive to run especially when not running at 80% capacity 12 months of the year.
The costs can be offset by the restaurant side but often in the Irish Clock when I pop in it is never really full, does a good trade no doubt but that side is down I expect.

The owner may be looking to realise some assets, one never really knows these days .

And get rid of that Kilkenny sign or actually get some Kilkenny to sell! Its had a sign on the pump for at least a year saying 'No Have'

Anyway good luck to the new owners. I hope they give it a makeover. Place has a lot of potential if they can get the volume of customers through the door.

And fix the front step, should be only 1 step from the footpath to the first landing, not 2 steps of unequal height a trip hazzzzzzzzzard, and bring back the BKK Post to read, no Post to read no eat there, black banned on my list till fixed, just come off a six month self imposed ban, front step not fixed, could be waiting long time for that to happen as the step has been there since opened, But no BKK Post is not on, I'll take my business else where, I only went there for the A/C and Post to read, it's like sex with a condom, It's not on.
No Pics it didn't Happen :ugeek:
