Obviously spent a few baht fitting the place out. If can up the food a bit, the prices may be in line with a 'dining experience', instead of local waterhole experience.

Only a few provide type of dining ambiance in Udon Thani. Most Thai / Thai run. Chef's Table the only one coming to mind since Grilled House, and Wine Society closed their doors.

Mall dining certainly doesn't cut it.

Wolf's Den, and a couple others, names escaping me, but that's about it. Barco, at hotel, but up and above, and rather comfy, but don't want to drift to far off topic.

Any addition other than another beer bar is a welcome venue.

Understood,shame biryani not up to scratch was going to be on my order,no mention if piped indian music in the background ,will just have to find time next week but no onion rings for me,just not cricket if cannot do that right

Sorry didn’t take any pics. To be honest food tasted good but wasn’t presented very well. Some strange little things like half a Thai lime served with the Biriyani. Tasted nice but not really a ‘real’ biryani like I’ve had before.

The owner seemed a nice guy. Asked what part of India he is from and he said Bangkok His father is real Indian but they have a textile business in Laos.

Don’t get me wrong food was nice and will hopefully be a regular visitor but food was In my opinion not 100% authentic. No doubt some ingredients not available or too expensive so it’s had to be adapted slightly for local conditions.

I get the lime wedge...the Mrs would have requested some if there was none.

never been a Biryiani man myself, seen it pattaya before and it is not like the real one in the UK.

is the meat on the bone and too salty curries ? I found this to be standard in Thai based ruby houses

Never liked Biryanis. Whaks those little disgusting seeds they put in that take you by surprise. Cardamom pods? Eeurgh

Was doing some research on Biriyiani and did read that some regions in India use different rices.

I'm used to 'muslim' versions which apparently can be quite different to some Northern Indian versions (food is promoted as Northern Indian.

So please Pomps do try it and I might be doing them a dis-service and talking nonsense.
