KL Restaurant

Always here to help my fellow forum brethren, cheap charlie, or simply a thrifty few tightening the belt a little bit while still enjoying a good munch in these, oh so hard economic times……………..oh please, but did find a nice value for baht venue.

It’s a basic 1st floor of shop house, 5 tables at in the shop, seating for 2-4 or more. Small bar, at rear on one side. Decent seating, unobtrusive music, which I’m sure if you didn’t want at all they would turn off, as wasn’t on till we sat down, but was fine.

Western and thai menu, as you can see, nothing is going to break the bank. Thai being especially value priced. I went with the sweet and sour chicken (35), made the way I like it, not sweet, with nice pieces of white meat, not fried small bits w/skin. Nice assortment of the usual veggies, w/rice (10), large rice order for me. Tasty munch washed down w/lg leo, (69). Ree had a nice tom yam kuung (69), though missing her mushrooms in it, something that doesn’t keep long, and since just opening, may be trying to control waste. Had nice flavor, plenty of the little kuung, and tomato/onions, flavoring items. Another rice, and some fried pork and salad thing (35).

Below are drink and western/thai menu. Also have a page for yum and couple other items, which are well priced, though in thai script.

Total bill 228 with 10% round up tip and a mere 250 baht bill, considering a 69 baht beer include, cheap eating.

If you don’t see it, ask, will make adjustments, as I was considering the ‘thai curry’ entrée, but made a bit spicy for me, but asked and told no problem if wanting panaeng style, my usual preference…..next time. Already back for 2nd visit, panaeng was very nice, along with Ree’s yum. Oops, must have been hungry, forgot to take pics.

Location is across the street from AEK udon hospital, before the red light ‘T’ intersection. Coming out of town, from fountain circle, toward big c, as soon as you past the mitzi dealer ‘T’ intersection and get pass thanachart bank (orange signage), park. There were a few spots in front of restaurant, simply because everyone double parks at bank, so not having to walk those extra 20 meters back. So I noticed, usually parking for a car or 3, of course, MB would be no problem. Well worth a visit. They also offer massages, upstairs, the usual, thai / foot / oil, and no I didn’t ask if happy or not, but either upstairs simply for use of space, or privacy. I would be surprised if happy ending, but nothing surprises me here. Not sure who does massages, whether staff there, or the make a quick call.

Menu and pics below.

KL RESTAUARANT

i put a reply about this in the bars section of this forum but decided to add to it here...

ive noticed its been closed since before songkarn.

also the farang that used to stand at the door looking for customers has not been in some time....

some of the customers that used the joint are somewhat surprised at the sudden closure since it only opened late last year. not even enough time to establish if its going to make it or not...so that leads one to think the management have had some kind of split.

if so, is it on the market?

great location and i heard the rents cheap..... ++)(*
