Bar’ista

Post by Niggly » Wed Jul 31, 2024 1:03 pm

Anyone tried out this place? It’s on Thong Yai Road opposite Lotus in UD Town. For lots of Hoegaarden banners outside.
I ant remember how many times I’ve been past & thought it was an evening beer garden but this morning at 9am ish I noticed what looked like customers so had a little dig around.
It’s actually a restaurant that is open 8am to midnight & the menu looks pretty good too.
Think we’ll give it a try

Did you try it?

What was the outcome?

Not tried it yet despite saying we must go everytime we drive past.

Recently had it on good authority from a couple we know that is very good. Food excellent & live music

Been tonight. Very nice. Menu & prices very similar to Faroh House. I was surprised how much is in the open air. Don’t know what they’d do with diners in the rainy season.
All in including tips ฿3400.
3 mistakes
1, second plate of Woon Sen, spicy seafood salad on glass noodles they forgot the glass noodles.
2, The Girl got a little tub of ice cream & when she opened it someone had already eaten a few spoonfuls
3, The Boy wanted 2 x calamari to go & when we got home it was prawns.

A comment on atmosphere, even though I’m not nearly 60 the music was ever so loud. You had to shout across the table to be heard. A live band came on at 7:30 & it toned down a bit.
Mrs N also took advantage of some deal on Singha. Something like spend ฿1000 & get a free big Singha. What ever happened there was no Singha on the bill & Mrs N’s tank was full when we left

Good trip report.

The 3 mistakes seem quite fundamental, e.g. Woon Sen with no sen.

Yes, prawns instead of calamari is a bit of an own goal too. Not sure we paid the difference, calamari is a starter & the prawns a main

Yes, I'll give it a miss and stick to bacon sandwiches with NATO standard tea at the Irish Clock.
