Must have walked past Santa Fe Steak Restaurant in Central 100 odd times but never tried it. Menu was simple enough, alongside the set plates they had a build your own platter so I dived right in.
Mushroom soup to start, steak medium rare with 2 sauces, fries, side salad & ice lemon tea to drink.
Drink arrives shortly followed by the bill (these chain restaurants usually wait until you’ve at least finished eating), then mushroom soup & side salad. Waiter comes over & apologies, they’ve run out of beef. Choose something else & they’re into a quandary, I’ve eaten the soup & side salad which comes with the beef steak menu. Never mind, not my problem.
In fairness the replacement food was really nice but we probably won’t be going back. As Mrs N eloquently put it, “if I was on my period that manager would have been torn a new ar$ehole”
