Hi my name is Nok, I’m 35 years old and come from the outskirts of Udon Thani. I have two daughters, 13 and 18 years old.

I’m the owner and chef at Saengkaew Restaurant in Udon Thani. I've always enjoyed serving people and I have worked in many jobs in the service industry before. I have always loved to make food, and always had an "eye” and interest for learning to make food. I guess that's why I wanted really bad to try and start my own Restaurant.

It started in a rented place not far from BB Resort. After one year I ran into some problems with our landlord so I terminated the contract. Then we had/have the recession, not only here but more or less around the world. I waited more than one year before I found a place out on the main "drag," Nongsamrong Road, not far from the Temple and 7/11. I signed the contract, put same paint on the walls, bought some more kitchen utensils and off I went.

In all fairness, it’s been a lot tougher now than when I first opened; I think it has to do with the general economic climate. So what I do is to try out some Mexican food, changing the menu here and there. I am hoping for things to start to pick up gradually. My old customers and happy to say, many new ones have found their way to my humble Restaurant, and for that I’m very pleased.

So with that said only one thing more to say.

A WARM WELCOME TO SAENGKAEW RESTAURANT.

NOK & STAFF.
