Baan Thai Steak and Restaurant (Phosri Road)

I find that the sirloin steaks that I buy in Udon at French Thai beef are good. Yes and I can remember what good British Beef tastes like. I would never pass comment on Thai food as my knowledge of suck is limited to what my wife and mother in law cook.
I think Roy if you try French Thai beef you will not be disappointed. The shop I use is near the roundabout with the statue, on road to airport. About five shops along. The shop does not open on Buddha days I believe.

PS Give Good Everything a go MrT, I had a really good steak there once, expensive compared to Udon prices but worth it. ++)(*

The OP (Zinedine) gave directions coming from the ring road................If you are coming from the other direction (from city center towards the ring road) you just stay on Phosi Rd. going past VT Vietnamese restaurant, across the klong and start looking for the sign on your right. It is on a corner and is a new two-story building. It is marked pretty will with signage.

Roughly E-7 on Udon Map.

That's the one I use was well.

It's very good!

The road it's on is called Srisook Road.

I have some top-end Aussie steak in the freezer. I rarely order any steak here either, although once or twice I have had passable steaks, especially when you consider they're about a 10th of the price of the ones I have at home.

I absolutely agree with several of the other posters that finding a good steak in a Thailand restaurant is not possible. I have tried for six years unsuccessfully. On occassion, in a moment of weakness and despite my better judgement, I am convinced to try a steak. Eating at Baan Thai restaurant for the first time last week, I broke down and actually ordered the steak. The quality of the meat was actually pretty good. Tender, but too fatty in certain areas. However, it was cut much too thin (less than 1 cm) to even come close to being a good steak.

Sadly, I shall once again return to my vow to never buy a steak in a restaurant in Thailand.

A''good beef steak'',to my liking,has to be a minimum 1" thick,medium rare,not rare or raw and be easy to chew.I have never experienced that in Thailand,not even close!

anyone tried the 'Angus Steakhouse' in Bangkok..? not sure if its the same chain as in UK...if so..that should be a real steak.
