When did you last attend one Westers ???

LA, in your first post you mention an expat meet up at the second saturday of the month at the NM, does this mean that there will be 2 similar meetings each month now ?

I've been twice, I think the last time was April 2010 at the NM, UT was definitely up and running at that time because I was on the lookout for UM people.

Ralph, Uncle Ronnie, Nobi and BWD were there, Roy turned up just as I was leaving.

presently, as in today, or last 2nd saturday, there is / was one at the NM. BUT ....... i'm guessing that will cease, as the regulars there are looking forward to the 1st saturdays back at BHC. I guess we won't know until officially cancelled, or nobody shows up. great venue, as i was down there last night, but leave before the traffic and parking becomes a problem.

attendance at meet ups, runs between 5-10 expats, some w/ladies. so always someone to chit chat with. great for out of towners/holidayers, exchange and learn from each other. great for people like me, out of town, 20 kms, and not a big socializer, and enjoy meeting folks i know, but don't see much of, and other forumites. nice to put a face to folks.

there's about 5-10 regulars, if we all showed up, it would be a very busy and festive night, as they have been at times. be we all have lives and schedules, as i can only make half of them myself. sometimes just 5 people, but that's fine also. friends catching up. if nobody showed, i would still have a very nice time chit chatting with Jeremy and Nok. a very pleasant evening not matter. :lol: :lol: ++)(*

side note: meetings originated from original udon forum/UM, about 7 years ago, so thats 7 x 12 = 84, and if been to at least half of them, always 5-10 people, sometimes on rare occasion, hitting 15-20 people. they dropped off to nothing about 2 years ago at the NM, congestion and PA system a bit too loud. then continued on at BHC, again, same numbers. moved back to NM, for 3 months now, don't ask, and have dropped to nothing again. the congestion is simply too much after 6PM.

BHC is the perfect venue in a perfect location........IMHO, and the regular ATTENDEES are in agreement. pop in, one and all if in the area / neighborhood. this thread is just for info and heads up when getting near the 1st saturday. ++)(*

Its very basic . Its a meet up for people from all walks of life , creeds , race , class , sex , religion , or forum affiliations .
The object is to meet like minded people , new friends , put faces to names , have a drink , maybe something to eat , and chit chat with like minded people , whom reside or have affiliations with the area .
If you fancy attending then im sure you will be make welcome , if you dont fancy it , then fine also .
But please enough of this shit on the forum about it . :x
