Actually, I made the same mistake that your gf could have made with that portion of the menu. There is a portion of the menu that applies to single portions with rice that one commonly finds at the roadside eateries for 35 baht...and Carrot Shop's price is also 35 baht. This page of items that you have posted is the price for a dish without rice that can feed 2-4 people, so the portion sizes are much larger and that price is not so far out of line with all the smaller shops. My problem was that the owner's son took our order and we specifically pointed to the single item servings for 35 baht, then he turned in the order to his mother as the larger portion size and she tried to charge me for it. It was clearly her son's mistake, so she bit the bullet and gave me a discount for the mistake. I can't say that it was a malicious mistake, but just like most younger people, he had his head up his ass and wasn't really paying attention to detail. But, I loved the food and I will be going back again, and next time I will have the young boy's undivided attention when he takes my order.

example..: Phad krapow Gai 'Lad Khow'....a 1 plate dish of Chicken with Basil on rice.

.........actually better to post it here, as Ree set up the site, and the owners don't visit it much, if at all, and a bit out of date. Ree will pass along all comments, positive or negative.

BlackSheep........Dtoi remembered you 'encounter' with ordering, as Me and Ree ate there just after you, I think, or next day. Glad you enjoyed your meals and it didn't turn you off from revisiting. Asking me and Ree to read menu, to see if confusing.

A new updated menu has been made, not sure if final was printed off and dropped off.............just asked, and it was NOT. And won't be till we get a chance, either 1st week of April, or mid May. More emphasis on one dish meals, and 'family' meal w/rice as sides.

i ate there the other evening with a friend and (3) plates of food , a large bottle of drinking
water, two glasses and a bucket of ice 155฿ ++)(* really can't beat those prices in town

After re-vamping the Preecha market, and competition from UD Town food court, they took a while, but the market recovered quite nicely. As it was very quiet for awhile, and half the vendors jumped ship to UD, some returned though, as rents were a big difference, along with couple new ones.

Carrot Shop, and maybe 2 others of the originals still there. Beer garden re-opened, different operators, but unless something changed since last there, not catching on nearly as busy when the big guy ran.

Probably around 8k a month, as here is a post from a while back when vlad was thinking about it.....which at the time, I think was half of what UD was charging, though they definitely get the traffic, along with the competition. So you need to be good.
