I had patatas bravas as a lunchtime snack In Madrid.

Landed at 8.00AM, on to rail link to city centre, checked into hotel, showered and in an Irish bar in time for the Argentina game at 11.

Funny thing was i was so knackered I could barely talk. When the barman asked me to repeat myself, for some reason I answered in Thai. The bar was full of Argies so I think he assumed I was speaking in a local dialect.

A few hours relaxation and then out for the footie tonight. I can see the Prado from my hotel room but, who needs culture when the WC is on.

Train to Malaga tomorrow to meet my mates if I wake up in time.

I like Madrid. Last time I was there it was me with a gaggle of Frenchmen.

It's one of my favourite cities too although I dont think my enjoyment would be enhanced by a group of Frenchmen.

On topic. Waiting for the buffet trolley on Spanish rail. The trains here are ace.

Any ideas what the local offerings will be this year in the bars, restaurants or hotels?
We have been invite to Phuket for xmas now. Maybe some more xmas offerings down south, although plenty of Muslims so not hopeful for a full roast pig :?
..I say invited, as some friends are going and we can meet them there, which means we need to book flights and hotels. What a lovely invite
