May as well shut the whole fcuking down (UdonTalk), not many posts about Udon anyway. Hell, I used to post restaurant reviews and other things going on around town, but not one peep, no interest so I stopped. I recently posted a topic of the farmers market to try get things going again, other than LA I got nothing, not a peep. Whingers and complainers seem to only want a forum of BS banter, like one big chat room.

What is obvious is that people do not have the self control or the simple courtesy to not open a topic that does not interest them or opens it with the sole intent to stir the shlt. The goal of "some" is to censor or chastise another member who they dislike because they disagree on a personal or political level. One "fanatic" jumps in and demands a poll because of his personal views is BullshIt....

That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Ironic that the one forum member who ranted and railed for several pages making libelous and slanderous claims against people, and putting the forum at great legal risk, is the one complaining about the forum being moderated. He went on two similar rants last night, and moderators deleted them also.

As has been stated numerous times, nothing prevents anyone from starting topics on things that interest them. And as alidar stated above, don't read what doesn't interest you.

There are times when reading posts and topics that some of the posters are just removed from Kindergarten, the childish outpourings of fractious children come to mind, it wasn't me it was him/her scenarios.
My God when you consider that most of us including myself are over at least 40 years of age then it is a sad indictment of us all. Intelligence low, common-sense almost zero. Tolerance NONE.
Come on chaps and chapesses. lets all grow up and behave like reasonably mature semi-intelligent people we really are OK. Oh by the way before any-one has a pop at me, I also include myself OK.

Gotta agree, during my lifetime I've had experts try to "F" with me and what goes on here is child's play. Crying and complaining, don't get it done;o)

Right then my good fellows, as you all know UdonTalk was started with a very definite idea about the use of moderation or lack of it but recently the mods have had to lay that ideal to one side due to certain members showing a complete lack of respect toward each other.
The team has had a little chat and we have decided that we will not let a few individuals force us to abandon our original ethos and therefore a new, new tact on moderation will be in place as of now.

Basically, sort yourselves out, no more bellicose rhetoric, stop reporting each other and trying to use the stricter moderation for your own ends. Stop the name calling and try to be tolerant of peoples views that differ from your own.
If you continue in the current vein an initial warning will be issued and a second infringement will result in a lifetime ban. If you have already received a warning regarding the nature of your posts, the ban will be immediate. No discussion will be entered into regarding either warnings or bans.

Also, the constant slamming of the forum does nothing to enhance the forum, it can only serve to further degenerate what was once a light-hearted and fun experience for our members. We are not saying criticism of the UdonTalk is frowned upon but it would seem strange to us that the main antagonists are also the primary agitants regarding the well being of our forum.

We have to be honest here, both the team and a great number of the membership have really had enough of it as your squabbling not only occurs in the "usual suspect" threads but infects many others too. If you feel this is unfair, sorry about that but you'll have to find somewhere else to bicker as that's the way it's going to be.

Here is an example of one of the many PM's received regarding the atmosphere being created within the forum by a few members.

Normally, I'd reply on the forum but I'm so disgusted with so much of the posting recently that I've decided not to post for a while just because all of the insults and counter-insults have become too much for me to stomach. They have sucked out all of the forum enjoyment for me.

We dearly wish that UdonTalk can return to the entertaining experience it once was and we will do everything possible to facilitate that.

have to agree w/KP...........good God, scary thought. with that, UdonTalk should change name to CryBabyTalk. as probably more post on this thread about moderation, than topics on Udon or Thailand in the same time frame......

beside, unlike obama, you don't have much choice, what idiot would want that job now. i would of quit a long time ago, bunch of thankless pricks. if the condom fits.

if the feuding members never met each other on the forum, would they extend the same 'courtesies' as they do on the forum in a bar if same subjects were raised.............very doubtful, or an excellent reason for gun control.

if the thread doesn't interest you, don't open it, if you don't like the poster, FOE feature, I have 5 on mine. yank bashers and idiots i can't convert to my way of thinking, and still try to convert me with their drivel.

i've given up on 'enlightening' :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: and don't even bother opening the threads any more, since i caught myself simply posting 'educational' editorials / cartoons.

matter of fact, i've stopped even logging in, except to post this.

for me, it's food, accommodations, holidays, so if something local or Thailand related posted, i may actually log back in.

That sounds wonderful. I hope it works. I also hope that people with nothing to add except putting things that happen in countries not their own down, would desist. I don't expect anyone, or anything, to be perfect. I also do my best not to run anyone's country down.

Driving while intoxicated is against the law. Too bad there isn't a way to prevent posting while under the influence. Not directed at any one individual, just an opinion.
