From what I understand when nok is at the Bookhouse everything is fine,hope she stays away from hong kong for a while,never had a twang problem with the Clock food,kubo had a problem with a twang taste down chern chim way.Kubo famous down soi sampan way,not to worry
What happened to those supposed authentic chicken shish kebabs from the frenchman down soi sampan? Never opened when I go down the soi

they are still open, near as i can figure from about dusk until 23:00 hrs ( kebab availability)
unless close early. ask for XXL size 99B . two of those will satiate your man-hunger guaranteed

I was explaining to a Thai friend , who after complaining about his stomach problems for the nth time , was told about my philosophy. You are what you eat , basically eat crap, problems in the nether regions . Soi sampan is no different , used to be the Irish Clock and Nobis were the places to go to, and true up to and including Fred was reasonably OK, now it is dying a slow death, Nobis closed some time ago well the owner changed anyway food not quite so good. overtaken by the BH, plus we have an Italian place and a couple fo other places serving from what I can gather a better quality food than you used tog et from the bars, as you never really knew where that came from .

On the upside though just outside Soi sampan at boith ends there are numerous establishments offering good food at reasonable prices
