I went by the place today. It is closed from 27 Oct - 5 Nov. I guess they need a vacation
I wanted to check on the Thanksgiving dinner I think they are having. I haven' seen an ad but someone told me about it.

I aways went to the Brickhouse for Thanksgiving when Maxx was there. This year they are doing something really weird.
You have to buy a whole turkey at 5,800 Baht or half turkey at 2,900 Baht. Comes with baked potato and some veggies. If you want soup, desert or other stuff it is sold separately. I don't know if they serve it there or its only for take out.

In the past the whole meal including Butterball turkey, soup, stuffing, potatoes, dessert and a glass of wine for about 800 Baht each.

Does anyone know of any other place having a Thanksgiving dinner? I know you Brits and Aussies don't celebrate it but it is a big deal for us yanks.

Brickhouse not doing a Thanksgiving celebration this year?

As I said above they have a Thanksgiving menu but it seems I must buy a whole or half turkey with 3 side dishes. If I want soup, salad. dessert or other amenities I must purchase separately. Still not clear if I eat there or take away. They don't specify sizes of turkeys only that they will feed 10-12 people for the full turkey or 5-7 people for the small. I guess that would depend on portion sizes.

Hi Charlieb,

I didn't realize you were a Yank. This will be my first year celebrating thanks giving in the US and it's sounding like your thanks giving is the same as xmas to us brits. I.e big turkey dinner, 2 days off, all the family around etc.

Looking forward to it now. Daughter is off school for a week so thinking of taking a wee vacation in the truck. Thinking to head to Miami for a few days (we are Orlando based) then heading down to Key west and back over 3 or 4 days.

Not clear if everything is closed for thanks giving or bars and restaraunts are open? Any advice greatly appreciated.

A lot of places are closed. But restaurants are mostly open and serving Thanksgiving dinner. Also it is when a lot of major stores have big pre-Christmas sales.

I really like turkey but the only time I get it is on Thanksgiving and maybe Christmas. I will have Christmas dinner at Chris' Bar along with all of my Brit and Aussie friends.

As I said, Maxx used to a really good Thanksgiving at the Brickhouse but this year I guess my only real option is the Country Grill.

already making mince pies myself, again sold out immediately . i like mince pies, just hate making thousands of them.
