"Changes are a coming"..

Post by RALPHCUSENS » Sun May 30, 2010 8:25 am

It has been decided that the forum is about due for a facelift, to facilitate this we have appointed a IT consultancy partnership.

They have agreed to carry the work out at a reduced price, for which we are grateful.

It is hoped that these changes will be completed within about four weeks, after careful deliberation of what needs changing, so that it reduces the need for any major changes in the future, any changes that are made, will where possible, take into consideration the observations and suggestions that have been put forward by you the members.

The Question of how we finance this has been debated at length, and it thought that the best way is by a combination of the two options suggested:

a. By donations by the members, and to facilitate that, a PayPal account will be set up in the name of Udontalk, and members wishing to donate by this method will be able to do so from the proposed new "front Page", any donations will be much appreciated, however small (or Large) :D :D

b. By having a limited number of "Business Advertisements"

Quarterly accounts will be published in the members lounge.
May your troubles be less, may your blessings be more, and
may happiness come through your door.

That's all good and well, but say I want to post a negative experience I've had from one of your advertisers, will I be allowed to post it or will you be turning into Udon Map/Thai Visa?

Beda,

Thank you for bringing up a very relevant point, this has been discussed at length, and the general opinion was that:

As part of the agreement with any advertiser, They will be made aware of the fact, that they must be aware that as Udontalk is a members forum and as such they are liable to receive positive as well as negative responses, however, members must be aware also that there may be instances where malicious postings are made, for instance, by a competitor or by someone who may bear a grudge for that advertiser, in that instance, if that post is deemed to be malicious and not constructive criticism, the offending post will be liable for deletion.

I hope that this goes some way in alleviating any misapprehensions
May your troubles be less, may your blessings be more, and
may happiness come through your door.

Yes, it's important that accounts are published and transparency is maintained. But I don't need to tell you lot that.

It would also be an idea if the sponsor would respond to those negative experiances if and when they might arise.... ++)(* which is not something that really occurred in the past.
Being In a Buisness in Udon its in their own interest to provide a good service and keep customers coming back.. ++)(*

Well as we have said Patience is a Virtue, Thank you all for being so, (even the Pink/violet brigade :D )

We are pleased to let you know that approximately 3pm TODAY, the new format of this forum should be up and running.

A great deal of thought has gone into this, and we (admin) are very pleased with the outcome, we are of course aware that it is impossible to satisfy everyone 100%, but we have endeavoured to take on board all your comments and where possible incorporated them into the design.

One of the important considerations was to ensure that the content was not such that it slowed down the loading of the site ++)(* which it is felt has been achieved.

We would also point out that a MEMBERS FORUM is only as good as the MEMBERS make it by way of postings :!:. And that is why we have a good forum,so a big thank you to YOU the members <:> <:> <:>

We would also like to congratulate and thank the I.T. Consultancy Partnership for their invaluable input in the reformatting of the forum and the professional manner in which it has been achieved <:> <:> <:>.

Your comments on the new design are welcome, and any improvement suggestions as always, will be considered.
May your troubles be less, may your blessings be more, and
may happiness come through your door.

Well, if everything runs true to form, the "New Format" will crash shortly after it is introduced. Followed by pissing and moaning about what has been a) removed or b) changed.

In any event, good luck guys and thanks for your thankless hard work. I'm of to Tesco to search for the phantom Germanic scammer, will check back later to try out the new digs. *****^^
