Re: 1st Saturday Monthly Meet Up
Nice pleasant afternoon of chat . Four members and three other halves round a big table together. Actually a lot more if you include all the alias one attendee uses *****^^ The bar was quite busy from lunchtime onwards and although not there for the meeting, there were a lot of old faces popping in and out.Nice to see them all. Steve and Malee didn't dissapoint with the food and I had the fish and chips again . Luverly . Went down well with the Magners cider , and we never mentioned football once.Brick wrote:OK, 3pm Tbar - I will see anybody who comes there then.

Thanks to everyone that voted For Boris, this day 31/1/20 would never have happened without your historic win.

Re: 1st Saturday Monthly Meet Up
sounds good. Could this be the start of a resurgence of the Monthly meet up
Looking forward to trying this T-Bar. Fish n Chips plus Magners sounds like a winner.

Yes, a pleasant afternoon. T-bar makes a pleasant location with plenty of on-street parking. Not a large turnout, but i think double figures sometimes results in everybody breaking up into little groups anyway. And it is a good way to expand/maintain your social network here, plus a good way for a new-comer to meet other falangs if not a regular bar-fly.

Re: 1st Saturday Monthly Meet Up
Unfortunately the last 2 months I have not been able to organise anything due to other commitments. If anyone is interested might be able to rustle something up for 'end of the month' maybe.

Bit of flashback, and refresher, hence the NEW INFO ..... It's all connected, but by different 'architects'
Loki wrote:a bit spirited meet, not the usual exchange of info for the fishing and gardening club. always finding out something new about our members, Brick being well read, studied archaeology, evolution and all things connected, making a topic I had no interest or knowledge of, almost damn interesting.... ++)(*

All life on Earth is descended from a last universal ancestor that lived approximately 3.8 billion years ago. Repeated speciation and the divergence of life can be inferred from shared sets of biochemical and morphological traits, or by shared DNA sequences. These homologous traits and sequences are more similar among species that share a more recent common ancestor, and can be used to reconstruct evolutionary histories, using both existing species and the fossil record. Existing patterns of biodiversity have been shaped both by speciation and by extinction.
That never ending search for knowledge and an explanation.............continues:Brick wrote:Nice to see something i said has made someone interested enough to follow up. Yes, was quite a 'spirited' meeting, i fear we may have been a little bit to noisy for the other customers ... but good to have some intellectual conversations. yes, my brain may be an encyclopedia but unfortunately applying it to making a living never worked out brilliantly - more an ideas person than a get it done person, best at research and data collection. One reason why i appreciate those who have skills, something which i had few of. yes and mushrooms very nice, thanks Tim. Had to wait until tonight as was on a 36 hour crash diet (doing hourly toilet runs!).
Hopefully we can maintain the attendance at around the 8-10 mark, otherwise LA gets to talk to much:@

Good Vid. In the sixties rumours ran around the school yard about us coming from Aliens but most just laughed it off. Who knows, maybe its true ….
