Re: Mojo bar / restaurant
I always thought an appetizer table setup behind the bar, ordered by paying customers and served by the bartendress might have some value.
BAR type Buffets, after customers have initially gone through them ,don't look that appetizing to me!

have to agree with that Stan, as my favorite watering hole, when doing customer appreciation day, no longer self serve, well, except the french fries, but the ribs and meats are given to customers by smiling faces, much better. of course the regular customers are offered 2nds/3rds/4ths, depending how long you are there, or how handsome you are.
this keeping the 'balloon chasers' away, too funny BM.
never been to mojo's after initial couple times way back when Allen 1st took it. inconvenient location for me now, as not downtown too much, not a bad thing, as quite a few friends seem to enjoy themselves there on a regular basis, and seem to have a steady clientele. best of luck to any business person, who dare treads in these shark infested waters. ++)(*

Re: Mojo bar / restaurant
Just to clarify things.
The Wednesday evening buffet is now going to be 110 baht and served on an 'all you can eat' basis between 7pm and 9pm. The food will be kept coming.
The whole 110 baht will be donated to Friends of Udon, which helps supports disabled children in the Udon area.
As has already been said, unfortunately the free buffet has attracted a group of "balloon chasers" who only appear every week for the free food, buy a coke or water, stuff themselves and bugger off.
The regular Wednesday evening pool competion players could often be bothered as a result to eat.

Re: Mojo bar / restaurant
thanks for clarifiying that david . what a nice and generous gesture to donate the proceeds to charity <:> <:> <:> <:> . although i still think that 110 baht is great value , as the food is of a high standard , and its usualy plentiful . ive got a feeling the ballooon chasers will be as rare as rocking horse shit , now they have to pay . but at least what customers he does now get , can enjoy more and feel content in the fact they are helping someone less fortunate . and not just themselves . ++)(* ++)(* ++)(*

Quite right Doug, on the 1/100 and the gentleman bits.
I also have to agree I would be more likely to go now. I've never been but much more likely now as I do like a game of pool and I won't be tempted to chin a certain BC after a few shandy's

Re: Mojo bar / restaurant
ditto, well except for grand openings, but they have a purpose to them. since i don't drink that often and especially if downtown, that also kept me away, as i wouldn't want to think of myself or others think of me as a balloon chaser, as i would probably just order water as i do 90 % of the time, and would feel uncomfortable pigging out. then leaving after buying couple waters and a generous tip.ive never felt comfortable taking advantage of some elses generousity
may have to stop in one of these days, and agree, funds to charity is nice. though will probably still order water or one beer. save my heavy consumption for closer to home. ++)(* ++)(* what a cheap arse
