Re: Be careful out there
Jeez there are a lot of touchy people it seems re Pattaya types being stereo typed as trouble makers or I guess low class farangs. It is my observation that the majority of us who come here to Thailand are decent guys. Pattaya is the first stop for most after they have deemed Bangkok to be to crowded and impersonal. After a while the scene becomes monotonous and farangs that prefer a quieter more sedate, not an in your face atmosphere head up to quieter places such as Udon. They are normally only introduced to the quieter places by their ladies who percentage wise they have met in Pattaya where the majority of Isaan girls gravitate to for a chance of a better life or increased opportunity to get a supportive farang.
It is wrong to then label any rough heads who make their way here as Pattaya types, better to refer to them as what they are, that being low life dorks that exist in any society.
If we are going to generalize, then do we categorise every individual race by the less attractive aspect of the minority.
Avoid reference to any trouble makers or less than desirable visitors as Pattaya types or Bangkok types as there is all types every where we gravitate to.
By the way I dont enjoy Pattaya or Bangkok for any more than two nights, or for that matter Day an Night but I am not a prude and dont judge those who enjoy the scene as long as they behave and respect those around them.
With so many more farangs initially going to Pattaya though it is natural that there will be more undersirables that will try their luck in places such as Udon where they are in their inflated egotistical minds big fish in a small pond.

Very true, in Thailand, a Farang can be somebody else. I think that's why the country attracts so many Walter Mittys.Aussie Tigger wrote:Have you noticed the farang walking down the soi as tho he believes he is the best thing since sliced bread??
Normally they are ugly pathetic dorks with an unwillingness to accept they are no longer(unlikely ever) God's gift to humanity let alone a bar girl who could not care less as long as he can pay the bar fine.

Are yes but it was the first post that explains why some use 'The Pattaya Type' in the posts..but I am not a prude and dont judge those who enjoy the scene as long as they behave and respect those around them.
From the OP...not great behavior and definitely a lack of respect imo.
When I got back a guy was sitting in my seat, I reached for my beer on the counter and he growled at me, baring his teeth and said "This is my house"
I thought better of it and sat down elsewhere, finished my beer, made my excuses and left.
He had a side kick with him who was on the pool table gooseing the girls as they walked past.

prenders just out of curiousity, i walked over there the next afternoon, the day after you posted
and perhaps the light was bad when you were there *****^^ but there were still two guys loosely
fitting that description at the bar in question...only...they looked like they had been there 2-3
days and it might have been quite difficult for them to even stand up? you must have caught
them on the peak of their bender because they looked to be in pretty helpless condition. and
this was like 2 pm and what a sorry place that whole D&N appeared to be, a bunch of old mamasans
cackling and burning your ears, what appeared to be some homeless people on the mall end,
drinking and laughing at...themselves...i don't know? extremely creepy, all of it. i ended up over
at nutty park, where a girl told me they had been having a number of fights over there, i guess
folks the worse for drink whatever. maybe i'll just stick to the night market area. yikes.

Re: Be careful out there
Yes Cap, there was a real Dingdong in Nutty Park week before last. Two Aussie guys started kicking Thai guys off there Bikes as they rode through to make deliveries, or story 2, it started on the Pool Table cause the Ozzy lost and the Man from Sweden refused to leave the Table. End result, Pool Cues and a Baseball Bat were used to subdue the Ozzy lads, and luckily nobody was killed. Last Friday night a Brawl started infront of Mr Tongs, another Ozzy from Nutty Park (Bar Owner) was on his way home when he saw the comotion so pulled over . Some Clown walked over to him and said "I'm Lebanese" and through a punch. He got flattened but jumped up grabbed a Bottle and stuck it across the Ozzy boys Head. End result, four stitches in the Head and a Lebanese doing the hundred in five seconds. Been coming here since 2004 and never seen so much violence in my life. Be very careful out there ***** *****
I'm not just another pretty face you know....

yep udon just aint what it was ! shame realy , whether the pattaya types come from pattaya or mars makes no real differance . our problem is they have discovered sleepy old udon which now has way too many bars , with way too many irrisponsible bar owners who are quite prepared to take a few baht of anyone who is capable of crawling over the threashold ! gone are the old days when they would be helped into a tuk tuk and sent home . is it all down to piss heads thinking they are tough , or is it just a sign of the times ? not so long ago i got verbally abused by a dickhead in tescos for christ sake . *****

I found out that "My House" and his Wingman are from Norway.
Heard the same story about various altercations in Soi Nutters.
Anyone seen the two French muscle bound guys in Tongs who cause trouble?
