The Welkome Inn on Soi 2 In Pattaya, also known a the Belgium Embassy. The Butterfly Bar Siam Country Club Road. You know the place, all you good family men would tell the misses you were playing golf. And who remembers Tim Bar on the Beach Road then moved to Second Road and opened the Go Go Bar.

Also Jool's Soi 4 Sukhumvit when Big Dave ran it. We had some cracking good friendly piss taking and piss ups there. Getting 3 glassed when you were in the toilet and full of characters who are mainly missing in Thailand today. A true ex-pats bar.
If you don't know Jool's read Private Dancer by Stephen Leather because that is where Stephen got the idea and some of the characters for the book.
I didn't realise Big Dave sold it, where did he go to?

He is still about Bangkok but being a married man with 2 kids, surprised the hell out me that the talcum powder man got hitched, but he and Baron Bonk have frequent fliers card on Cebu Airlines to Clark and he has lost a shite load of weight. He is now 15 stone after a gastric bypass but he is still the cynical, piss taking, bell ringing bstard. Bless him.
Sadly Jool's is nowhere the bar that it was.

The last time I saw him he was around 28 stone so he's half the man he was, I'm glad to learn he's doing OK as I thought you may have replied that he'd pegged it but I should have known the cynical sod would invest in a gastric bypass which probably saved his life and married to boot with kids don't that beat it all.

My 2 favorites;

The newton hall - Durham. Nowt special expect the memories. It was my brothers local then mine as soon as I was old enough. A lot of good times had. Now it's just a shit hole estate pub.

The Grapes - Oxford street Southampton. All my wages went straight behind the bar. Good beer, good atmosphere, happy days.

This and any other topics are not going to be used as pissing contests for anybody on here with an axe to grind. If you have personal issues then keep it that way, personal and there is a personal messaging system for doing it.
